With a résumé like Douglas Dunn's (Jacob's Pillow, Martha Graham, Joffrey, Merce Cunningham), it's no shocker that his own troupe — which he formed in 1976 — has since become one of the most acclaimed contemporary companies in the country. Dunn's Pulcinella was originally commissioned by the Paris Opera Ballet, but its roots lie in the very foundations of ballet, with Diaghilev and Stravinsky; the storyline follows the exploits of its titular Commedia dell'Arte character — who you probably know better as Punch. Accompanying this classic Dunn piece is a new work, then boss in man?, which features music by classical guitarist Tali Roth.
