A Tribute to John Updike

New Yorker editor David Remnick pays tribute to his longtime colleague, prolific writer John Updike, whose half-century at the magazine produced countless stories, essays, and poems — some of which are read tonight by fellow writers ZZ Packer, Adam Gopnik, and Roger Angell. Ann Goldstein, who worked with Updike for more than 20 years on his critical pieces, shares stories along with former NYT Book Review editor Charles McGrath. Added comfort for Updike fans comes in the form of three completed new books that will be published by the end of the year.
