Steeped in the lore of an ancient and mysterious age, the Pagan Knights Tour isn't as much a metal fest as a Super Bowl for Norse mystics and reborn Viking warriors. Helmed by folk-metal mainstays Tyr, tonight's lineup stacks solemn, tribal dirges on top of rough-and-tumble riffage. Paying homage to the old and new gods alike, the atmosphere is part Metalocalypse, part Headbanger's Ball, and part ultimate Renaissance Fair. Sadly, mead isn't on offer, but no worries: there are other libations on tap to keep spirits high.
