Choice Eats promises to be larger in scope and even more ambitious than last year's tasting extravaganza. Village Voice's inner- and outer-borough food expert Robert Sietsema handpicked tonight's 50-plus restaurants with Voice staff writer Sarah DiGregorio. There are many notable new editions, including Scandinavian fave Smorgas Chef, recently opened South African BBQ joint Braai, and Dirt Candy, a cutting-edge resto making veggies — and food blogging — exciting. Wash it all down with excellent small-craft brews from Smuttynose, Ommegang, Blue Point, and many more that flow freely all night.
