For their 11th-annual festival, the folks at MATA have put together a stellar lineup, featuring string-and-brass ensembles, J-pop knob twiddlers, coffee-cup clangers, and much more. With a focus on young composers whose work falls outside the confines of traditional institutions, the MATA organization commissions new work from its performers for each year's festival, and this year groups such as So Percussion and the Knights Chamber Orchestra rub elbows with solo performers Sawako and Mike Vernusky for four nights of contemporary classical performance.
