A motley collection of works by 30 artists makes up the \'flō\: art, text, new media exhibition, which examines the use of text in visual art. Victoria Bean proffers compound-word "poems" on lenticular prints, Brendan Carroll assembles disparate memories in a series of Polaroids with typewritten captions, and Masumi Shibata manipulates words, phonetics, and meanings in his Uncertain English Dictionary. Set on a block (and in a building) laden with Chelsea's industrial feel, half the charm is getting to the CBA's makeshift gallery space, set between its third-floor offices, fully-equipped bindery, and letterpress printshop.
