The Pictures Generation pulls the curtain on the young laboratory of the New York art scene in the '70s and '80s. Seminal and rare early works hang cheek by jowl in an installation that sheds light onto the practices of a bevy of artists at the onset of their careers. This exhibition gives rich context to iconic works by seriously heavy-hitters including Cindy Sherman, Louise Lawler, Eric Bogosian, Richard Prince, and many others.
