New flick (but truly vintage-looking) Black Dynamite is an homage to the crazy, sexy, campy Blaxploitation genre of the '70s. After getting picked up by Sony following its Sundance stint, the film is set to take Tribeca by storm. Hot Peas & Butta throw tonight's funky party in honor of Black Dynamite, and have appropriately blown out the festivities: World DMC Champ DJ Cash Money and acclaimed producer DJ Skeme Richards (of the Rock Steady Crew) both take to the decks, spinning only 45s all night long. Richards also shares his peronal Blaxploitation film poster collection, which is on view throughout Von.
