Master comic actors Bill Irwin, Nathan Lane, and John Goodman infuse a bit of glee in the cosmic questions posed by Samuel Beckett's classic 1953 existential play in this darkly hilarious revival helmed by Anthony Page (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?). Waiting for a God who will never come, Vladimir (Irwin) and Estragon (Lane) wile away their time eating carrots and reveling in each other's company when they're not half-heartedly contemplating suicide. Nuanced performances keep this incredibly accessible production from losing its dramatic weight by installing an Abbot and Costello on the deck of the Titanic, so to speak.
