Ballet Academy East has been a prestigious mainstay of the New York dance community for 30 years. This year's BAE's Student Company Spring Concert is an energetic program of the old, new, and not-too-frequently seen. First, there's the popular flash of The Don Quixote Suite, choreographed by Roger Van Fleteren (after the original by Marius Petipa). This is followed by the premiere of an unnamed ballet by NYCB principal Jonathan Stafford. Finally, BAE's Associate Artistic Director and NYCB alum, Darla Hoover, stages Balanchine's swoony homage to 19th-century ballet, La Source.
