After two years of major construction and renovation, the Met’s Charles Engelhard Court—the spectacular, light-filled pavilion along Central Park—has reopened to the public. The second part of a long-term upgrade of the Met’s American Wing galleries, this totally transformed space features the Museum’s outstanding collection of American sculpture and decorative arts including statuary, ceramics, stained glass, silver, and jewelry. Twelve of the Met’s historic interiors have also reopened and provide an unparalleled view of American domestic architecture and interior design from colonial times to Frank Lloyd Wright.
Don’t forget to stop by the popular American Wing Café on the park side of the court for a light meal accompanied by breathtaking views of the American sculpture and stained glass on display nearby.
