Green-Wood Cemetery
500 25th St
Note:
Don't meet at the cemetery! The ride begins at 125 Canal St in Manhattan.
Green-Wood Cemetery is one of Brooklyn's most underappreciated gems — nearly 500 acres of rolling, wooded hills tucked between Windsor Terrace and Sunset Park. This neo-Gothic graveyard is the final resting place of countless notable New Yorkers, including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Leonard Bernstein, Samuel Morse, Margaret Sanger, Louis Comfort Tiffany, and Boss Tweed. Soak in the history on this day-long bike ride organized by the plucky Five Borough Bicycle Club. Avid cyclists shouldn't miss this rare opportunity, as this heavenly cycle spot is normally a bike-free zone.
