Digital indie press Nobody Rocks isn't just resigned to the advent of paperless literary publishing; according to founder Greg Aden, it's jumping ahead to the part where it takes Kindles and eBooks back for the progressive fringe of arts and letters. Aden acts as MC for tonight's shot-across-the-bow reading party on the eve of the conventional book convention, offering audiences a triple bill of historical quasi-autobiographical fiction from the Nobody Rocks roster. Brooklyn Rail editor Theodore Hamm's first novel examines the life of troubled singer Hank Thompson; Jason Flores-Williams' incendiary novel The Last Stand of Mr. America gives your heart whiplash looking for love among society's ruins; and John Buffalo Mailer's nonfiction account of the lives of working girls in post-Katrina New Orleans ups the ante on his scrubbing of America's wounds.
