Hilarity meets highbrow wit at McSweeney's, Smith, and Rumpus magazine's literary bash at the Highline Ballroom. Hosted by Rumpus editor and author, Stephen Elliott, the sit-down dinner promises a lineup of outstanding literary and comic talents, all Gen-X-approved. The Six Word Memoirists, Jarhead author Anthony Swofford, Jessica Anthony, and the inimitable Amy Tan, among others, do some heavy-duty reading, while Todd Barry and Eugene Mirman provide the much-needed comic relief. Mathew Caws of Nada Surf, meanwhile, sets the mood with his musical stylings — that is, if the happy hour hasn't done so already.
