Backlash is a bitch, and Fischerspooner have certainly endured their share. Whatever your take on the colorful performance troupe that became the poster children for electroclash — boring new-wave rehash with slicker packaging; ironic commentary on post-irony — you can't deny that core duo Casey Spooner and Warren Fischer have an ear for catchy tunes. The duo's sub-zero production aesthetic is packed with the kind of vintage Italo disco from which the group cribbed; you have only to look at the current bumper crop of Kitsuné- and Ed Banger-style electro-house to see an ongoing influence.
