Back for its third year, the massive community-art playground that is FIGMENT takes over Governors Island with a free weekend of art, live music, lectures, and performances. Far removed from an elitist art scene, FIGMENT puts creative impulse into action with help from its army of volunteers, all on a mission to get New Yorkers interacting with art in an environment free of corporate sponsorship. And there's no better environment than that of the Island's lush fields and old buildings. We're particularly looking forward to doubling our summertime putt-putt options with the City of Dreams Mini Golf Course, this year expanded to 18 holes.
