Note:
Hound is part of the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity (June 9-28).
John Patrick Bray's Hound takes its name from Sherlock Holmes' and Dr. Watson's best-known case. Only now, the Victorian detecting duo has a few personal mysteries of their own, such as Holmes surviving his fatal encounter with nemesis Professor Moriarty and the murder of Watson's wife Mary. While Arthur Conan Doyle had to bring back Holmes from the dead and conveniently eliminate Mary Watson to please his readers, Bray uses these events to accelerate his own plot, making Watson the leading man. It turns out that the key to Mrs. Watson's death may be the Hound from Hell, aka the Baskervilles.
