After years of homelessness on the streets of New York City, the dire daily grind of the author who goes by the name Cadillac Man gives sobering new meaning to the term street cred. In his recent memoir Land of the Lost Souls, he recounts the ins and (mainly) outs of that life, advising on practical matters like makeshift beds and his weapon of choice, while also elegizing runaway soul mates. At the Tenement Museum reading, Will Blythe discusses his chance discovery that led to the author's journal excerpts in Esquire and subsequent book deal.
