Besides the vigorous choreography, it's obvious that Larry Keigwin is having a blast with his work. His cheeky pieces have included a high-octane paean to caffeine culture and an impressively smooth work with 50-odd community members on stage. This last piece, Bolero NYC, is included in Keigwin + Company's current bill at the Joyce, alongside the playful Love Songs and Natural Selection, based on Darwin's survival-of-the-fittest theory. The newest work, Triptych, explores the various understandings of time from the mundane to the existential, which, knowing Keigwin, should be a lot more fun that it sounds.
