Once a month, CHERYL (the dance party that will ruin your life) descends upon Brooklyn amid a kerfuffle of glitter and fake blood to prove that New York is still chock-full of good-natured, merrymaking weirdos. The brainchildren behind the party, the CHERYLites, create trippy video art before each event to inspire their attendees in assembling costumes. The theme of this month's installment is Goth Spaceship, wherein four dark-hearted goths lead a space mission to destroy the sun. Bust out some mesh gloves, pile on the eyeliner, and brush up on the official dance before heading out to the Bell House for a smorgasbord of electro, disco, and hip-hop tunes and a creatively dressed clientele.
