It's been a fraught political year for LGBT communities in the states, but today and tomorrow, open-hearted NYC brothers and sisters of all stripes can give in to unfettered pride and joy. While the massive, ticket-required Dance on the Pier and Rapture on the River will surely be parties to remember, Sunday's march and the Pridefest street fair afford tons of free, daytime fun — including hooting, hollering, strutting, and educating, for starters — on the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots.
