Saxophonist Ravi Coltrane teams up with legendary drummer Jack DeJohnette tonight to benefit JazzReach. DeJohnette's four-plus decade career includes highlights such as playing on Miles Davis' seminal Bitches Brew and Freddie Hubbard's post-bop classic, First Light, as well as many sessions with John Coltrane. Ravi, meanwhile, has inherited his father's robustly adventurous style (evident on his cover of Monk's "Epistrophy"), while developing his own sound as a band leader on five albums. Bassist Kenny Davis and harpist Brandee Younger round out the quartet.
