Amadou & Mariam perform tonight at Webster Hall as a stop on their whirlwind US tour. The couple first met 30 years ago in Mali, at the Institute for the Young Blind. Ever since, they have been making Grammy-nominated music with the likes of Manu Chao and producer Marc-Antoine Moreau. Their sounds are a blend of french pop, hip-hop, reggae, funk, and rock — definitely not your typical world music.
