Jennifer Muller has had her company with its great, to-the-point name for 35 years. The influential choreographer's signature technique is rooted both in Eastern philosophy and influenced by her work with José Limón, another choreographer known for exploring the human condition. The Works' anniversary performances include the world premiere of Bench, a rumination on the Seven Deadly Sins and ecological abuse. This catastrophic play on nature versus nurture is danced to the off-centered music of Jocelyn Pook. Another world premiere, Walk It Off, is a less serious look at self-help practices. New to Joyce audiences is a selection of Mozart comprising a danced Aria. 1973's Tub with its theme of cleansing brings the Works full circle.
