Normally a safe place to picnic, the Stuy Town Oval braces for Jay Reatard's garage-punk assault. Although the Memphian's upcoming album (his first full-length on Matador) is said to feature a lusher pop sound, Reatard's live show is consistently raw and furious. This late-afternoon set offers New Yorkers their first taste of the new material, along with plenty of hooky rave-ups from Reatard's extensive back catalog. Swing by early for eclectic DJ sets from Doug Mosurock and Mr. Vacation.
