The Joyce Theater says…

Pilobolus has come to be synonymous with summer in New York, with the thrilling company staging an extensive, three-week stay at the Joyce. Among a slew of crowd-pleasing pieces, the acrobatic dance company is premiering three new works: Redline is Jonathan Wolken's examination of the dynamics of physical battle, set to music by Battles and Autechre; SpongeBob SquarePants' head writer Steven Banks collaborates with the company in Dog-Id, a fairy-tale piece about the inner life of a girl in a world of shadows; and 2B reunites Pilobolus with Israeli choreographers Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak, co-creators of 2007's hit Rushes, in a surreal piece driven by music ranging from Hawaiian pop to Bach.
