Born into the media culture of postwar America, this loosely knit group of New York artists including Richard Prince, Cindy Sherman, Sherrie Levine, and Louise Lawler, among others, created photographs showing how pictures of all kinds not only depict but shape reality. This gallery talk is held in conjunction with the special exhibition The Pictures Generation, 1974–1984. (FM assistive listening devices available.) This talk will be given by Marian Cohen.
This talk will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the Joyce and Robert Menschel Hall for Modern Photography and Tisch Galleries, 2nd floor.
