New Party Brings Together Music, Medias + Performance + Mayhem!
We need to be alive, exciting and innovative... "like what NYC is supposed to be," explains one of XRay's creator Chris Ianuzzi, "I don't want this to be looked on as a revival of any past era. This is about now, because it's the right time for something like this. And it's about moving into the future.
Billed as an "over-the-top Big-Top and an Eclectric Cabaret, XRay will feature a wild mix of elements: DJs, go-go dancers, burlesque, performance art, spoken-word, short videos, magic, and live music (with an electronic edge). "It's a futurist urban cabaret, The last decade has seen the city get more and more homogenized. We need events to keep underground music and performance from being eclipsed by condos and chain stores."
With a smorgasbord of exciting talent already waiting for their chance in its spotlight, Members are planning on making XRAY as diverse and varied as possible, with the hope of keeping the vibrant underground alive. "We are all a mixed crowd of ages, tastes. genres, orientations and proclivities and we are feeling the same thing," explains Chris. "I think it's time that we broke down our barriers and mixed it all up again."
