For Patrick Swayze's second role in a feature film, he was teamed up with all unknowns who went on to be big-time in the movie world. Big brother Darrel Curtis (Swayze) tries to keep his brothers Sodapop (Rob Lowe) and Ponyboy (C. Thomas Howell) out of trouble. But with the continuing rivalry between the Greasers and the Socs, things only get worse when an accidental death occurs. The boys redeem themselves when they become unlikely heroes after saving children caught in a fire.
