“We love a good cause, and Project Ahimsa's is definitely on the list. The charity has one goal: "empower[ing] youth through music." Created in 2001 in response to attacks on Sikhs and South Asians after 9/11, Project Ahimsa raises money to pay music teachers and buy instruments for children in impoverished neighborhoods in areas including India and Thailand. Tonight, the nonprof hosts an album release party for Global Lingo, a work made by children who have benefited from their mission. Expect global-dance beats, with hip-hop, electronica, funk, and reggae to be playing throughout.”
