“Brooklyn son Ben Munisteri's choreography doesn't generally evoke the fluid movements and graceful routines you might expect from your average dance company. Instead, it presents a formalist structure, examining bodily movement in disparate space patterns. Tonight, his company performs the new Catalog, which is set to Radiohead — a perhaps perfect foil. Dendy Danctheater uses visuals from MC Escher in its piece, so prepare for this al fresco performance to get a little trippy.”

Ben Munisteri Dance Projects' new Catalog, set to songs by Radiohead, realizes a sense of discovery and clarity through formalist patterns, design, and musicality. Mark Dendy's first New York concert dance piece in nine years takes its visual imagery from the groundbreaking lithographs of M.C. Escher, the master illusionist of time, objects, and space.
