As part of the Bronx Museum's progressive year-long series Intersections: The Grand Concourse at 100, designer and Bronx native Vito Acconci is recasting the light-filled Grand Concourse lobby with a large-scale installation exploring how the body inhabits and activates public space. Lobby-for-the-Time-Being is visible from the street through the contemporary landmark's glass and metal façade, folded in sheets like origami. On Sunday, October 4, from 11am to 6pm, visitors are invited to a block party celebrating Acconci and other artists commissioned for Intersections. The all-day street party includes activities for families, plus craft vendors, food stands, dance performances, and live music spun by DJ Sam Quinones.
