Your summer job as a caddy has ended. Your friends have gone back to school, or left the metro area. Your other friends have a collective $50. Perfect. You are astrologically aligned to attend the Underwater Peoples' Live Summer Showcase in the Flesh. The mini-fest, which features Beach Fossils, Real Estate, and a host of other indie up-and-comers, promises to transform the rundown DIY space beneath the JMZ into a sea cottage at the shore. Plus, the newly air-conditioned venue will have its own synthetic ocean breeze blowing all night. The show starts early, but sets go late, as Fluffy Lumbers, Family Portrait, and Alex Bleeker and the Freaks do their best to recreate the lucidity of all this summer's parties, and those from years gone by.
