The second year of Summer Streets begins Saturday the 8th, and continues for the two following Saturdays. On each of the three days, Park Avenue, as well as connecting streets from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park, are closed to all motorized traffic, and opened up to people, bicycles, and (be warned) baby strollers. A number of Weekend Walks are also being organized, which feature wide-ranging activities including music and crafting at various locations. It's a great way to enjoy summertime New York while simultaneously lowering your carbon footprint.
