Perez Hilton presents Ladyhawke w/ Ida Maria

Ladyhawke took her stage name from the eponymous cult film perhaps remembered most vividly for its soundtrack, which miraculously incorporates just about every cheesy musical element of the mid-'80s. While most musicians wouldn't actively seek out an association with what might be the most dated soundtrack of all time, Ladyhawke is obviously comfortable with the implications. Her synth-heavy electro-pop worships the guilty pleasures of the '80s, and her knack for emulating the shimmering, glossy, and mindless fun of Hughes-era pop is almost as impressive as her deft compositional hand and way with an irresistible hook. Brown is joined tonight by our favorite Norwegian pop-punker and Iggy Pop collaborator Ida Maria. It's a bill that almost makes us forget just who's behind it. Almost.
