The Blackout Film Fest began in '04, as filmmakers gathered to share their experiences of the previous summer's blackout. Now, the fest organizers call for entries dealing with a different community (or national) event or circumstance each year. The theme for today's submissions: it's the economy, stupid. And, for such a dour and depressing subject, the films collected are surprisingly upbeat. The full program screens at each showing, so you won't miss out on any of the winning films — whether animation, documentary, or music video.
