CocoRosie have a sound best described as mercurial. The moment you think you've pinned it down with a tidy handful of adjectives, the next song is on and you're forced to start all over again. The band is Sierra and Bianca Casady, two sisters born in America, and currently working out of Paris. They found prominence on 2005's Noah’s Ark, while 2007's The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn continued the sisters' ascent. Coquettish singing mixes with folk guitar and found sounds from children's toys, while hints of trip- and hip-hop creep out. But throughout all their songs are lyrics that manage to keep a sense of humor as they continuously explore themes of loss and rejection.
