Amanda Stern's Happy Ending Music and Reading Series is the kind of thing that appeals to those who wouldn't normally find anything appealing about attending a reading. The twist is simple: each week's readers are required to take one public risk, while musical guests are asked to work one cover song into their set and attempt to get the audience to sing along. This week's lineup: Laurie Sandell, a contributing editor at Glamour, reads from her first book, The Imposter’s Daughter; Brian Selznick, a puppeteer and 2008 Caldecott medal winner for his national bestseller The Invention of Hugo Cabret, share his words; Chip Kidd, an acclaimed New York-based graphic designer and author, reads from his latest novel, The Learners; and the music is provided by singer/songwriter Amy Correia.
