Ensemble Π is a new music ensemble dedicated to exploring the music of living composers and undiscovered composers of the past. Through innovative and collaborative programs Ensemble Π bridges the gap between new music and new audiences. Under the direction of Idith Meshulam, pianist, Ensemble Π seeks to be actively involved in and comment on the current political situation. 


Members:

Idith Meshulam 
IDITH MESHULAM, pianist and artistic director of Ensemble Pi, is rapidly becoming acknowledged as one of the most foremost interpreters of and advocates for contemporary American classical music. 

Karl Kramer 
The New York Times wrote of [Karl’s] performance of Milton Babbitt's Around the Horn: "essentially a stand-up routine for a virtuoso soloist, excellently communicated by Karl Kramer." 

Robert Burkhart 
A native of Minnesota, ROBERT BURKHART entered the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a student of Uri Vardi. 

Amy Zoloto 
Amy Zoloto, clarinetist, is a native Chicagoan, who earned a degree at DePaul University with Larry Combs. She has been a member of the Jacksonville Symphony, and the South Bend Symphony and has performed in Chicago under the batons of Pierre Boulez, Georg Solti and Daniel Barenboim. 

Barry J. Crawford 
Flutist Barry J. Crawford, enjoys an active and varied career as a flute soloist, chamber player, recording artist, flute teacher, and orchestral musician. The New York Sun recently reported, “Mr. Crawford is a young musician with guts. He found the quirky spirit of Prokofiev’s mercurial melodies and brought a robust flute sound”. 

Kristin Norderval 
Kristin Norderval, soprano, is a performer, composer and improviser who performs a repertoire that spans the renaissance to the avant-garde. 

Airi Yoshioka 
Airi Yoshioka has concertized throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and Canada. Deeply committed to chamber music, Ms. Yoshioka is the founding member of the Damocles Trio and Modigliani Quartet and has performed and recorded with the members of the Emerson, Brentano, and Arditti Quartets. 

Bill Trigg 
William Trigg has been performing, composing, and conducting new music for over 25 years. He has premiered solo works by Babbitt, Bouchard, Dlugoszewski, Kupferman, Shapey, & Volans, and was solo marimbist in the New York City Ballet’s premiere production of Michael Torke’s “Echo”.
