The Mercury Lounge says…

The Adam Ezra Group has made appearances with the Goo Goo Dolls, Guster, Aerosmith, Modest Mouse, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, DeSol, Blackalicious, Spearhead, The Donnas, Josh Kelley, Dave Matthews Band, Carbon Leaf, The Wailers, The Samples, Pete Seeger, Braddigan, Pete Francis, and State Radio (from Dispatch), Edwin Mccain, Widespread Panic, The Pat McGee Band, Cake, Cracker, and many more. Ezra considers himself an experientialist as much as a musician or songwriter. Whether it's living out of a van, farming in Canada, relief work in Kosovo, student in South Africa, kitchen hand or carpenter, teacher, lacrosse coach, or traveler, Adam manages to cram it all into the music, always challenging our perspective and often teetering somewhere between the ballsy rocker and sensitive poet. He currently resides in a cramped, poorly insulated basement in Somerville, MA and incessantly writes songs. Live, the group is engaging, lyrically thought provoking, and rocking. Hooky songs with lilting melodies and catchy choruses. Acoustic, roots based soul pop music. If it were possible, the new CD would have 107 tracks. The Group’s live performances have made them a staple in Boston and throughout the northeast. The Group shows their versatility by headlining full band rock shows at major Boston venues (Paradise, Roxy, Middle East), and playing festivals (Rothbury, 92.9 WBOS Earthfest, Download Festival), while Adam routinely sells out acoustic performances at venues such as the revered Club Passim. Rated one of New England’s top 5 bands by Ski Magazine in 2007, the Group also devotes much of their touring to community outreach and activism. Their current schedule is highlighted by spots at the environmentally conscious Rothbury Festival (along side DMB, 311 and John Mayer), and the WBOS Earthfest, as well as shows supporting AIDS research, cancer research, Cerebral Palsy research, education in Zimbabwe, and much more. The Group sees this as a model for preserving the music business as well as the planet, highlighting important issues and bringing about much needed cha
