In recent years, Kay Redfield Jamison has struggled with overpowering grief and depression following the death of her husband from cancer. Jamison is the author of An Unquiet Mind and a new book, Nothing Was the Same. She is professor of psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and codirector of the Johns Hopkins Mood Disorders Center.
