The Metropolitan Museum of Art says…

Join curator Katharine Baetjer as she visits the special exhibition Watteau, Music and Theater, on view now through November 29. Music and theater had a pivotal influence on the art of Watteau, who explored the tension between King Louis XIV's court imagery of power and a more optimistic imagery of pleasure developed in opera-ballet and theater. Meet at the entrance to the European Paintings Galleries on the 2nd floor 11:00 a.m.
