Note:
This series is part of the NY Guitar Festival; the Bon Iver show is sold out.
This unique series pairs modern composers with classic silent films to answer a question that's been floating around in our heads for some time: if Bon Iver were alive at the turn of the last century (and scoring silent films, naturally), how would he tackle the zaniness of Charlie Chaplin? Spanning over four Thursdays, the series also features genre-defying virtuoso Marc Ribot taking on Chaplin's classic The Kid (1921) and Grammy-nominated steel-string acoustic guitarist Alex de Grassi scoring Shoulder Arms (1918), a World War I comedy.
