Nicholas Martin's madcap revival of Present Laughter scores some big laughs, even if the subtlety of Noel Coward's original wit becomes obscured in the process. Although Victor Garber's machine gun delivery as the narcissistic thespian Garry Essendine wears thin by play's end, this wonderfully nostalgic production features a superb art deco set by Alexander Dodge and a particularly strong performance by Harriet Harris as Essendine's no-nonsense assistant.
