Alexi Kaye Campbell's first play is an ambitious, time-bending exploration of gay identity with dialogue that's reminiscent of the old-school wit Noel Coward. Casual sex and high culture are discussed with a humor that doesn't obscure the humanity of the well-drawn characters, while Joe Mantello directs an excellent cast who effortlessly leap from past to present and back again. Even with an ending that offers no great shakes, this engaging work is well worth a view.
