“Asobi Seksu's name derives from a Japanese slang term for "playful sex," and it's no wonder. Frontwoman Yuki Chikudate's sugary-yet-melancholic vocals oscillate between childlike innocence and a sense of all-knowing femininity that holds up just fine against guitarist James Hanna's powerful lo-fi chords. Tonight, the group presents their dream pop alongside ARMS, whose 2010 seems to be coming up roses with slots opening for Passion Pit and a great debut, Kids Aflame.
