“For several years, Michael Friedman has been crafting savvy tunes based on interviews conducted by the downtown docu-theatre troupe the Civilians, which he helped found. Tonight's show at Lincoln Center could be the largest single audience he's played to, and the dramatic setting of the Allen Room with a glass wall overlooking the Manhattan skyline and Central Park provides the perfect backdrop for this song cycle of everyday people. Broadway actress and musical veteran Sherie Rene Scott sings Friedman's songs along with a host of talented performers including fellow Civilians member Michael Esper.”
