Book editor Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis never wrote a memoir. It's appropriate, then, that Karen Finley begins The Jackie Look with a slideshow of memories. Finley dresses the part, but, more importantly, depicts this silent icon with raw, bittersweet insight. She berates her audience about the "gazing of trauma," which comes across as a convincing argument for observing history through one's own eyes rather than someone hiding behind mourning veils and sunglasses. She also makes several excellent points about the Kennedy brothers' deaths, Mrs. Obama wearing purple, and the defintion of assassination.
