Experimental theatre group Temporary Distortion's Americana Kamikaze deserves the multimedia moniker that so many performances covet. Set in a simple box bisected and dominated by a vertical panel that displays William Cusick's mesmerizing video projections, Americana Kamikaze seamlessly integrates theatre and cinema to the extent that interactions between characters occur only onscreen, not in live performance. Fragments of narratives overlap and slip away from one another, linked by threads of violence, obsession, and repression that owe a debt to both J-Horror and American kitsch. Note to the squeamish: the psychological brutality is more disturbing than the bloody variety.

Following sold-out runs,Temporary Distortion return and climb back inside one of their signature box structures - this time delving into the worlds of Japanese ghost stories with a dose of "J-Horror".
