Famous Elizabethan dramatists include Shakespeare, Marlowe... and John Fletcher? Aye! Fletcher and Shakespeare were both playwrights for the King's Men and co-authors of The Two Noble Kinsmen. Guerrilla Shakespeare Project's entertaining and fun-filled approach to this five-act footnote about a pair of Theban cousins in enemy Athens includes contemporary ballads, gymnastics, and lots of eye rollling. Controversy forever surrounds the Bard's work, but it's certain that parts of Kinsmen are his, such as the Athenian rulers Theseus and Hippolyta, a noblewoman sworn off men, and a girl driven mad by love. She's never given a name, but her hysteria is played for laughs and, unlike that better-known Danish maiden, treated with actual kindness.
